What's NewIFUW NZFGW is affiliated to the International Federation of University Women
(IFUW). IFUW is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) of
over 150,000 women university graduates from 78 national federations and
association worldwide.
Conferences are held every three years and draw together graduate women worldwide. They provide the opportunity to exchange ideas on issues facing women; to learn about one another’s education systems, culture and history; to develop policies and promote programmes that will advance the status of women and girls, and to promote international cooperation in the search for peace and human rights. Many life long friendships are formed at these conferences. Members can also communicate with other members worldwide on various issues via listservs and obtain information and ideas relevant to members PGWNetPGWNet is an IFUW regional network, which links individuals and groups of graduate women throughout the Pacific. The groups are varied and include members already affiliated to IFUW and others working toward affiliation. It provides a network to exchange ideas and information relevant to the Pacific region. United NationsIFUW has consultative status at the United Nations and its specialised agencies, such as: Project Five-OProject Five-O is a coalition between IFUW and 4 other international organisations: Project Five-O supports vocational, health, nutrition, hygiene, childcare, literacy and other training for women and girls in developing countries and countries in transition, using the skills and expertise of local members to provide the training. |
